About Me

My name is Brianna (pronouns: she/they), but most people call me Bri. I am currently investigating the social dimensions of research instruments in field biology, with a focus on collective governance strategies in conservation technology projects. I previously served as the community coordinator for the Gathering for Open Science Hardware (GOSH) and was a Fulbright student researcher and SEEKCommons fellow studying the Mothbox, a low-cost, open source insect monitor.

I also co-founded Queer Science!, an award-nominated podcast that explores the intersection of science and queerness, am a member of The International Society of Nonbinary Scientists (ISNBS) and manage the open source solutions group for WILDLABS, a global conservation technology community.

I’ve had the privilege of working with grassroots communities around the world to democratise the tools and technologies that we use for scientific research. You can learn more about the work I’ve done by poking around this website!

What else am I up to?

  • Participating in language exchanges 🌐 (I speak both English and Spanish)
  • Playing sports like volleyball 🏐, basketball 🏀, and tennis 🎾
  • Spending time outside tending to my garden 🌱, hiking 🥾, and riding my bike 🚲
  • Listening to music 🎵, reading books 📖, and talking about my favorite movies 🍿
  • Sometimes, you might catch me performing as a drag artist or DJing!
